There is a huge market for these types of acne skin care products as they don't require a consultation with a dermatologist. Products for Skin care have been created to reduce or eliminate the excess oil that harmful bacteria need to promote the development of skin conditions. The active ingredients in these products is salicylic acid or benzoyl peroxide which treats the existing bacterium issue.
Most doctors will start you off on a mild form of acne treatment if you go the medical route. The two that come to mind contain retinoic acid (sold commercially as Retin-A) which you've probably heard of, as well as adapalene (sold commercially as Differin). They both work well for mild forms of acne. Personally they irritated the heck out of my skin, however spot treatments worked ok. However, just remember that everyone's skin type is different so these may work well for you.
When those reddish things on your face start to show up, you may think that it may have been caused by this or that. You may even blame it to the most unreasonable reason. Well the best thing for you to do is to stop these misunderstandings. When you stick with them, it would not help you find the right treatment for your acne.
